Attention Chicago area teachers and technology staff! Make plans to attend the 15th Annual NICE Mini-Conference Sponsored by Northern Illinois Computing Educators!
Last weekend I attended a Google workshop. Have you taken advantage of the Google Docs applications, yet? You can create word docs, spreadsheets and presentations online.
During the workshop, several of us typed our notes on a shared Google word doc.
One session leader created a form and projected our responses 'live' on the screen.
Today I created a 'sign-up' form for our teachers so they could choose a specific time for software training. The form generates a confirmation e-mail to the teacher and I receive an e-mail notification of the new submission. Google puts the form results in a spreadsheet which you can edit, export to excel or publish as a web page.
One freshmen science class will use Google word doc for sharing notes while they research their topic.
